I saw the sign when leaving, so can’t comment on the Ricky Bobby chicken . Mission is definitely above average for chain BBQ. However the food doesn’t even come clsoe to The Bone in Gainesville/Manassas or Dixie Bones in Woodbridge.

Or go hit Hammerdown in “Aldie, ” Allmans in Fredericksburg, or BBQ exchange in Gordonsville. Yeah those last two are a hike from NOVA but worth a stop if you are out that way.

I have one where I live, don’t know that I’d drive 8 miles to get it* , but if you happen to be in the area for some other reason, its worth checking out.

*That is, assuming you have a good local bbq place. If you don’t, then, yeah, maybe consider making the trip to Mission.

I have been to BBQ Exchange like 9 times in the year and a half I’ve been here even though it’s almost 2 hours from the house . It’s amazing. Will have to check out the other two at some point.

There’s some good roads between Fairfax Station and Manassas in the Clifton area - when it’s not rush hour.

Options to Woodbridge are pretty much 1, 123 and 95, not much to work with there...

My Dad will drive all over for good BBQ and Allmans is one of his favorites. Hammerdown is right off 50 in “Aldie”and my personal choice for “local non-chain” BBQ.
